Boom is an album based on American history; that time being the 1950s following World War II. The title is based on an economic and industrial boom in the 50s and Purple Look Play tries to portray that time in the music. There is a song President Harry Truman, a 57 Chevrolet, The Jesters (a late 50s street gang) and songs that bring those influences to what is taking place present day in America. The song Boom, in fact covers characteristics of the United States starting in the 1950s and taking place present day. America is certainly not perfect, but it's still a great country; that’s what Boom is about.

Purple Look Play's new album is a collection of vibrantly written songs that relives the glorious days of the 50s. Each song provides a unique feeling that matches the taste of anyone looking for a music that is easy to resonate with. Every era can be defined by the energy of the songs that were frequently played at the time. And it is easy to recognize through this album that the energy of the 50s is greatly different from that encountered today. It's lively and much more engaging which makes the era worth revisiting for those lucky folks who once lived in it, and worth exploring for those who can't find the perfect music that can capture their taste in today's time.

The Track list has 11 songs in total and here's a brief review of each masterpiece:

Boom is an instrumentally dynamic song with a charged rhythm occurring along glorious, but smooth delivery of lyrics. Then there's a stirring solo-instrumental in the middle that sustained the energy all throughout the song. Starting the album with its title track was a straightforward move that immediately satisfies one's curiosity on what it is all about. And the song did great in setting the mood for the whole album.

Give Em Hell Harry is a song that speaks reality with the story of a president who is respected by many for the practical decisions he had made for his country. Again, this has a solo-instrumental in the middle that is a pleasure to listen to. Tuneful beats were consistent which exhibits the characteristics of a statesman.

The Jesters has a catchy rockabilly style with catchy guitar riff and dark tones to set background for a song about an actual New York street gang from the 1950s.  The music, lyrics and vocal paint a scene of violence perpetuated by gang members and a warning to stay alert of their activities.

When I Get My Way is a song that is easy to relate oneself into. It interprets an individual's desire to get his ways in life validated. The beat and guitar strumming were responsive to the wise lyrics delivered through a prudent sounding vocal.

Engine 4 has flavourful melodies that capture the diversity of causes behind a series of fire events. Subtle siren sounds were in action and it supports the reassuring spirit of the chorus. There was a smooth transition from confidence to anxiety that was necessary for another story of regret.

Red Bel Air starts off with a venturous tone followed by splendidly sung lyrics that display automotive grandiosity. It's a song about a specific type of car but it sounds perfect with any vehicle on the road. One could find himself driving in the 50s while this song is playing.

Rockport Air Express makes a flight more thrilling. The song enables an exciting way of recalling travel memories with its electrifying tunes and pumped-up lyrics. Everybody just needs a vacation to relax and have fun, but for the meantime, maybe this song is enough to feed the nostalgia brought by vivid memories of previous travel trips.

Warmth of Summertime is indeed something to look forward to. It was a truly warm song with a calming emotion to it. The distant style of delivering the chorus suggests the expression of longing for something that is months away. And the slow tempo is just making the wait for summertime longer but considerably worthwhile.

Let's Make It Right conveys determination even with such a soft vocal. A song that brings delight with its persuasive lyrics and charming harmony between the rich consistent tones. It's perfect for any activity that is done anywhere under any sort of weather, and just makes a typical day extra special.

Wish for The Moon was visionary in a humble sense. It is a song that sends a message of encouragement and aspiration. One that is composed of optimistic vocals and promising melody with a guitar solo that reaches the galaxy.

With A Dream has a heroic start that builds from sacrifices getting recalled and would lead to unleash the legend out of anyone who's feeling stuck in the present day. It was written with conviction accompanied by a powerful instrumental and a profound vocal that are meant to uplift.

Overall, the album has a variety of songs that are worth listening to. Ranging from hard to soft rock while the other ones are upbeat and warm, anybody would agree that the album is filled with novelty songs. And the listening experience just gets more interesting once the stories and elements behind each song gets understood. The songs were in perfect order as the album starts energetic on the first half which was followed by warm and relaxing pieces and then ends with optimistic and motivational songs that leaves the listener inspired to make progress in life. Afterall, progress is what boom means.

It's difficult to get tired of listening to these songs. They just vibe at any given moment of craving for music. There are songs in the album that give the same feeling one gets from the background songs in exciting films and documentaries. That is to suggest the album's commercial potential not only for music lovers but also for content producers who are looking for inspiration for their upcoming projects. Music is just powerful, and the album that Purple Look Play just released is as momentous as the economic boom in the 50s.
